Share in the journey of Disney's Lion King Jr., coming to EPAC on February 3, 2017!

February 3 - 19

EPAC is very excited to continue its extremely popular Kids4Kids series with Disney's Lion King Jr. A lively stage adaptation of the Academy Award-winning 1994 Disney film, The Lion King is the story of a young lion prince living in the flourishing African Pride Lands. Born into the royal family, precocious cub Simba spends his days exploring the sprawling savanna grasslands and idolizing his kingly father, Mufasa, while youthfully shirking the responsibility his position in life requires. When an unthinkable tragedy, orchestrated by Simba’s wicked uncle Scar, takes his father’s life, Simba flees the Pride Lands, leaving his loss and the life he knew behind. Feel the warm winds of the African savanna as you feel the love and join the unforgettable Simba, Rafiki and Timon as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle–and back again–in this inspiring coming-of-age tale about the circle of life and the true meaning of friendship and loyalty.

A personal message from EPAC's Kids4Kids Family Series Director

Camp Director
Irving Gonzalez
On behalf of the entire production team of Disney's Lion King Jr., we would like to take this opportunity to thank every single one of our young performers who auditioned for this production. It took a lot of courage and great strength on your end for what could have been a stressful experience. We appreciate your time and talents. With over 180 hopefuls, we were amazed and excited to see so much talent in one room. Certainly, we would have loved to have cast everyone in this production, but unfortunately, as with all good things, it must have its limitation. I want to thank those who have continuously supported the growth of our EPAC's Kids4Kids Family Series, now in its sixth season. We recognized the importance of providing a creative, nurturing, and explorative theatrical experience for our young performers. To those who have been cast in The Lion King JR., we congratulate you. We look forward to beginning this new adventure and being a vessel as you create your own stories.

I want to shift my attention to those who really gave their all and overcame their fears, but unfortunately were unable to be cast this time around. We want you to know that we validate your talent, and we understand how difficult this may be right now. I personally ask that you do not get discouraged but look at this experience as an opportunity to grow and learn. Do not take it personally. I know first-hand how it feels to be in your shoes. Reflect on your audition. It’s okay to want to get feedback for future opportunities. Try again! Be persistent and resilient. Do not give up, and continue with confidence. If there is anything that you can take away from this experience, it is to enjoy the process, and know that you did your personal best. I applaud you and look forward to our paths crossing again.
